Tic Tac is a visual time capsule that recalls the moment Angela Merkel took the lead in rescuing Greece’s economy, preventing its exit from the European Union. The piece echoes the ticking of a social bomb: while the numbers were saved, the crisis exploded in the streets of Athens.

Amid clocks, trains, Russian dolls, and “private property” signs, we see Russia, China, France, and the then-still-present Great Britain—witnesses and players on a tense geopolitical chessboard.
